Abseiling

Abseiling in Ireland

Abseiling (rappelling) is a method of using a rope to descend a slope by a controlled descent down the slope using the rope and a friction device. This technique is used when a cliff or slope is too steep and dangerous to descend without a rope for protection. Abseiling is also used in industry as the method access otherwise difficult to reach areas such as the underside of bridges for various industrial applications like maintenance, inspection and welding. Rescue teams use abseiling as a way to access injured or stranded victims in remote lonely or otherwise dangerous locations.

At Unique Ascent we will rig an abseil off any building, cliff or structure for you and your group to abseil from.
